Carmen & Buster
I have always had a passion for dogs ever since I can remember. I always wanted to build a relationship that benefited them and their needs as a dog as well as my need to live with a dog! For this reason I wanted to know all that I could about how they develop, learn and how they communicate with us and eachother. I was interested in how my behaviour may effect them and wanted to understand what I was really saying to my dogs using my own body language.
We are two entirely different species so why do we expect them to understand what we say and want from them, when they do not understand English and we do not show them in the first place?
Clicker training and reward training is a wonderful way to let your dog know he has done something right and then build on that ability.
You will probably be suprised to know that although from wolves, dogs have a totally different learning environment and actually have no idea what "pack rules" are. Training your dog is more a case of showing your dog firm yet fair leadership and setting boundaries. Its easy and fun when you know how.
There is a new revolution in dog training, a dawn of a new era in positive, fun training and I am excited to be part of that. It is a great feeling when a dog understands what you want and offers you the desired behaviour, it is like a light is turned on inside thier brains and they begin to trust you and enjoy working for you, its more a case of finding their motivation.

Dogs are our best friends and the loyalty they show us deserves to be returned with kindness and understanding. I want to help as many dogs and owners as I can to have a more fulfilling and enjoyable relationship, its great to enjoy eachothers company on a daily basis.
